This is not an Alaska State Park, but is managed as one. A general store food, showers, storage, and gas is located within five miles of the campground. The area is heavily forested with spruce and birch. Little Susitna Public Use Facility offers camping and boating access. The river is famous for its world-class sport fishing. Houston has all visitor facilities, groceries, restaurant, post office, campground, and lodging by the Little Susitna River, excellent fishing and riverboat services available. There is a good boat launch available to the public. Fair rainbow fishing and good for king, red, humpie, and silver salmon in season. Most area resorts provide land and/or water taxi service. If you’re piloting your own plane, Big Lake has a good airstrip and is only a short flight from Anchorage. The lakes are connected by dredged waterways. Fishing is good for rainbow, lake trout, Dolly Varden, burbot, and landlocked salmon. From Fishers Y, paved and unpaved roads lead to Big Lake, Beaver Lake, Rocky Lake, Horseshoe Lake, and numerous campgrounds. Keep to the left and you will come to East Lake Mall. Turn West at mile 52 on the Parks Highway, and drive 3.6 miles to Fishers Y. Junction with Big Lake Road leads to Big Lake Recreation area, one of the major recreational areas for Southcentral Alaska, and is easily accessible by highway. Sai Ying Pun to Kennedy Town tunnels, Sai Ying Pun Station and Hong Kong University Station was constructed using drill and blast methods, while the section between Sai Ying Pun and Sheung Wan was excavated using TBM. Tunnel boring machines (TBM) and the drill-and-blast method were used in the construction of tunnels according to the prevailing geological conditions. Some of the existing public facilities were reprovisioned while some were temporarily relocated. The construction works primarily involved excavation for the tunnels, stations and pedestrian passages. ![]() Construction works on the extension to the existing 13km Island Line It passes through two new stations at Sai Ying Pun and the University of Hong Kong.īoth Sai Ying Pun Station and Hong Kong University Station have six entrances, while Kennedy Town Station has three station entrances. The new line starts at Sheung Wan Station of the Island line and ends at the new station at Kennedy Town. Lines, routes and alignments of the new 3km long extension Sai Ying Pun and the Centennial Campus of HKU stations are furnished with lifts and escalators. Some of the public facilities that were re-provisioned during the construction included the Centre Street Market West Block, Kennedy Town Swimming Pool, David Trench Rehabilitation Centre and Hong Kong Central Dental Laboratory. Apart from the underground railway system, the project involved re-provisioning, remedial and improvement works of some existing public facilities.
